Washington, DC: October 20, 2022 – Metrea is excited to announce the creation of Metrea Strategic Insights, a new business unit led by Todd Harrison.

Headquartered in Washington D.C., Metrea Strategic Insights (MSI) will specialize in pathfinding studies that look beyond the typical five-year planning horizon at long-term trends, threats, opportunities, discontinuities, and asymmetries in national security.

“Metrea is excited to continue to expand our solution offerings by developing insightful analysis on some of the toughest problems in national security policy and planning. Todd and the rest of the MSI team will conduct objective and thoughtful research for both the general public and our growing roster of customers,” said Justin Johnson, Deputy Head of Strategy at Metrea.

As part of its debut, MSI has released its first publication “DoD’s Three-FYDP Challenge”. The paper analyzes the FY 2023 defense budget in the context of the National Defense Strategy and the long-term challenges facing the military.

Prior to joining Metrea in May 2022, Harrison was the director of Defense Budget Analysis and the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) from 2015 to 2022, and from 2009 to 2015 he was the senior fellow for Defense Budget Studies at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA).

Metrea provides effects-as-a-service to national security partners in five domains and over a dozen mission-centric solution areas, including airborne ISR, aerial refueling, electronic warfare, communications, space-based ISR, and advanced simulation. Metrea recently renamed itself from Meta Aerospace.

Metrea is headquartered in Washington, DC with facilities across the United States, the United Kingdom, and the EU.’
