Metrea is built on the idea that commercial business models are the only way to deliver outsized contributions for the free world to defend its people, values, and interests.
One of the ways we do this is by delivering commercial aerial refueling as-a-service, using our fleet of KC-135 aircraft. One of our KC-135’s will be on display at RIAT, July 14-16 2023, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of aerial refueling. Currently, Metrea Strategic Mobility delivers AAR service to the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, and Allies and Partners via a U.S. NAVAIR contract.
In April 2023, Metrea completed an historic first — delivering the first ever commercial air-to-air refueling using a boom, successfully refueling U.S. Navy P-8’s.

Metrea's KC-135 Fleet
Metrea provides commercially owned, operated, and maintained aerial refueling aircraft, personnel and equipment to satisfy fleet training, operational, test and evaluation, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements.
Our KC-135R aircraft are equipped with two wing-mounted Multi-Point Refueling System (MPRS) pods which facilitate refueling with probe equipped Navy, Marine Corps and Allied nation aircraft. They are also equipped with an air refueling boom to refuel receptacle equipped receivers.

Mobility Aircrew Training
Metrea trains all our pilots and air refueling operators (AROs) using the latest ground school and simulator training, as well as in flight training. We train crews to operate globally using Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS), Allied Tactical Publications (ATP), U.S. Air Force, and NATO standards.
We develop unique and innovative aircrew curriculum and courseware for AAR classes. Our aircraft are equipped with advanced Audio/Video recording systems with full HD recording to capture A/R audio/video for receiver training.
